Fish leather comes from tilapia skin — a byproduct of the Lake Victoria fishing industry that would otherwise be discarded. It is tanned and finished into a material that is lighter than most conventional leather, equally durable, and visually distinct in a way that smooth cowhide is not. The scale pattern stays present in the finished leather: fine, dense, and slightly directional. It catches light differently depending on the angle, and it ages with its own character.

The slim bifold fish wallet is designed around one constraint: carry everything you need without the bulk. At 0.9mm thickness, this is the thinnest full-leather wallet in the Ecodunia line. Folded and fully loaded, it sits at 4.1" × 2.8" × 0.3" — small enough for a front pocket and flat enough to forget it is there.

Inside: six standard card slots and two hidden compartments behind the main card section. Two full-length bill pockets, each cut to hold U.S. dollar notes flat without folding. The bifold spine is reinforced with a second leather layer so the wallet holds its shape through daily use.

The interior is lined with traditional Kenyan Kitenge cotton — hand-selected textile art, visible each time the wallet opens. It is the detail that surprises people.

The fish leather exterior develops a light patina over time, becoming more itself the longer it is carried. Scratches and marks from daily use blend into the surface rather than standing out against it. This is what full-material leather does that coated or corrected alternatives cannot.
