Choker Styles: Four Different Silhouettes

  • Brass Cuff Chokers

Structured brass that wraps around the neck and opens at the back, no clasp, no chain. The Milele (spiral), Msala (wide band), Sana (hammered with teardrop ends), and Saya (infinite loop) are all shaped from a single piece of solid brass. The Sana is adjustable; the others are sized to fit most adult necks. These are the boldest silhouettes in the collection substantial enough to wear alone.

  • Open Collar Chokers

A cleaner, more minimal alternative to the full cuff. The Uzi (open front collar) and Pindu (open loop collar) sit close to the neck with an intentional gap at the front more architectural than ornate, easier to pair with layered necklaces below. Both are solid brass with the same tarnish-resistant e-coat finish as the rest of the collection.

  • Pendant and Wrap Chokers

The Zizi wraps around the neck with a small leaf pendant at the front, the only piece in this collection with movement. Lighter than the cuff styles, and the most versatile for layering.

  • Sculptural Statement Chokers

The Sola (sphere ball) and Tatu (knot) are the most distinctive pieces in the catalog, geometric shapes in solid brass that sit at the base of the throat. Both are statement pieces designed to be worn alone with a clean neckline.

Will It Fit My Neck?

Most adult necks measure between 13 and 15 inches in circumference. Our cuff and collar chokers are shaped to sit at the base of the throat they open at the back or front to go on and off without a clasp. The Sana is adjustable; the remaining cuff and collar styles fit most necks in the 12–16 inch range.

If you're between sizes or have a larger neck circumference, the open collar styles (Uzi, Pindu) and the pendant wrap (Zizi) offer more flexibility than the full cuff styles.

How to Wear a Brass Choker

  1. Necklines: Chokers work best with open necklines, off-the-shoulder, V-neck, scoop neck, and crew neck all let the piece sit cleanly without competing with fabric. Turtlenecks and high necklines will cover most of the detail.
  2. Layering: The open collar and pendant styles layer well with longer chains or pendant necklaces worn below. The full cuff styles (Msala, Milele, Sana) are bold enough to wear alone layering on top of them tends to compete rather than complement.
  3. Styling note: Brass reads gold, so these pair naturally with other gold-toned pieces. They also contrast well against darker skin tones and jewel-colored fabrics.

FAQs

How do I know if a choker will fit my neck?

Most adult necks measure 13–15 inches in circumference. Our cuff and collar styles fit most necks in the 12–16 inch range and open at the back or front to put on without a clasp. The Sana choker is specifically adjustable if you want the most flexibility.

Are these chokers adjustable?

The pindu choker is adjustable. The remaining cuff and collar styles are shaped for a standard fit, open-back or open-front construction means they flex slightly to go on and off, but the diameter doesn't change significantly.

Will a brass choker tarnish?

The nano ceramic e-coat resists tarnish with everyday wear. The brass underneath develops a patina over time, that's the material aging, not degrading. Polish with a soft cloth to restore shine; avoid prolonged submersion.

Can men wear these?

The product listings are written for women's styling, but the open collar and cuff styles are unisex in construction bold, geometric shapes that work on any neck. The Uzi, Pindu, Sana, and Saya are the most versatile for gender-neutral wear.
