Jewelry Size Guide: Rings, Bracelets, Earrings and More

Every piece is measured and finished by hand, so sizes are exact rather than one-size-fits-most. Tap the circle closest to your measurement in each section below. All measurements are shown in inches.

01

Rings

Measured by circumference, the distance around the base of your finger.

  1. Wrap a strip of paper or string snugly around the base of your finger.
  2. Mark where it overlaps, then lay it flat against a ruler to measure the length.
  3. That length is your circumference. Match it to the closest circle.
No ring on hand to measure instead? That is the more common starting point. The paper strip method above works just as well as measuring an existing ring, and takes about a minute.
Shopping for someone else? Borrow a ring they already wear on the correct finger and measure its inner circumference instead; no guesswork, and the surprise stays intact.
For the most accurate reading, measure at the end of the day when fingers are at their largest, and skip it right after exercise, a hot shower, or a salty meal, since heat and swelling can throw off the result.

Bracelets

We make two styles with different fits: solid bangles that slide over the hand, and adjustable cuffs that open to slip on.

  1. Wrap a shoelace or ribbon around the widest part of your hand for bangles, or your wrist for cuffs.
  2. Mark the overlap, lay it flat, and measure the length with a ruler.
  3. Match that number to the closest circle.
Have a bracelet that already fits well? Lay it flat and measure straight across the inside opening instead; that works too.

Chokers

Our chokers are made to one adjustable size, fitting most necks comfortably.

  1. Wrap a soft tape measure, or a string if that is what you have, around the base of your neck.
  2. If you used a string, lay it flat against a ruler to get the measurement.
  3. Compare it to the range at right. Most necks fall comfortably inside it.
Nothing to measure with? A necklace or scarf you already wear at the neckline gives you a close enough estimate.

Arm Cuffs

Measured by the diameter of the cuff's opening, taken around the upper arm where you would like it to sit.

  1. Wrap a scarf or belt around your upper arm where the cuff will sit.
  2. Mark the overlap, lay it flat, and measure the length with a ruler.
  3. Divide that number by 3.14 to get the diameter, then match it to the closest circle.
Have an arm cuff that already fits? Measure straight across its opening instead of using a scarf.

Earrings

Earrings do not need a fit measurement the way rings and bracelets do, but knowing the size helps you picture the scale before you buy.

  1. Not sure what 45mm or 50mm looks like in real life? Grab a coin. A US quarter is about 24mm across, so two side by side get you close to 50mm.
  2. Hold that comparison up to a mirror near your ear for a sense of scale.
No coin nearby? A standard AA battery is about 50mm long, and a house key is close to 45mm, both work as quick reference points.

A few more questions

What if I am between two sizes?

For rings and bangles, we recommend sizing up. A snug bangle will not slide over your hand, and a tight ring is harder to remove. For arm cuffs, either size works comfortably since they have some flexibility.

My knuckle is bigger than the base of my finger. What size should I get?

Measure both the knuckle and the base, then split the difference. You want a fit that slides on over the knuckle but does not spin freely once it is past it.

Does a wider band change the fit?

Yes. A wide band sits tighter than a thin one at the same size, since more surface touches your finger. If you are ordering a wide band, consider sizing up half a size from your measurement.

By half a size. What if I order the wrong size?
